Bookkeeping - Reports

Here you'll find a comprehensive breakdown of your finances.

This section will be particularly useful to your accountant (if you have one) when preparing for year-end accounts.

Bookkeeping - Bank accounts

This is where you categorise your transactions to ensure your income and expenses are recorded correctly. Staying on top of your bookkeeping is essential to accurately prepare your tax returns.

You'll see a list of your bank accounts along the top of the page. If they're up-to-date, they'll be green. If you have any actions to take, they'll be amber.

To complete your bookkeeping, click 'Review transactions'.

You can use the drop-down menu to select the relevant transaction types and categories or you can type in a description and the software will highlight suggestions with a blue star.

You'll also see a grey box at the bottom with tips and explanations to help you choose the correct category.

Bookkeeping - Director's loans

Any transactions involving money lent to or borrowed from the company will be displayed here.

Care must be taken when borrowing funds from the company, as it may have implications for corporation tax, income tax, and national insurance.
